The Walking Dead Season 11 has officially ended, opening the doors for the series' upcoming spinoffs, like Maggie (Lauren Cohan) and Negan's (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) The Walking Dead: Dead City. So, when will the new show take place in the TWD timeline?

Maggie, Negan Settle Differences

The original series' final episode, Rest in Peace, saw Maggie and Negan settle their differences. The latter already apologized to Maggie for killing her husband, Glenn (Steven Yeun), in Season 7.

However, Maggie didn't fully accept his apology, saying they could never be friends, but she had freed herself from the pain and hatred.

"When I look at you, all I see is that bat coming down on his head," she told Negan. "So, I can't forgive you."

Despite that, these two will stay and work together as they perform their new mission in The Walking Dead: Dead City.

So, when will The Walking Dead: Dead City take place?

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Cohan revealed that her spinoff series would take place a few years after The Walking Dead's ending.

"When we pick up in New York, it's a few years later. So in my mind, there is sort this hopeful renewal at the end of the season of going out and exploring in the ways that we've seen her go do before," she said. "But I think this time with her family, it's about staying in communication about their joint plan to do this and forge new roads. And family means Daryl and Carol and everybody else. And so that is what that means to me."

The Walking Dead Season 11 Finale Setting Up the Spinoffs

The last few scenes of The Walking Dead Season 11 finale have set up the upcoming three spinoffs: The Walking Dead: Dead City, Daryl Dixon, and Rick and Michonne.

After the one-year time jump following the battle at the Commonwealth, Daryl (Norman Reedus) was seen riding off down a long road by himself, probably making his way to his new series.

Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and Michonne (Danai Gurira) were dealing with their own big fights, while Maggie delivered an intriguing message.

"I want to talk about the future," she said. "There's a lot out there to find out about. And I think it's time we did."

However, the last sequences didn't feature Negan, making fans wonder how he would be part of The Walking Dead: Dead City.
