The Santa Clauses Episode 3: Who Will be Scott’s Successor?

Scott Calvin has already expressed interest in retiring as Santa Clause since The Santa Clauses began. So, will his son, Charlie (Eric Lloyd), follows in his father’s footsteps and be the next Saint Nick, or a new one will be introduced in The Santa Clauses Episode 3?

Charlie has no plans to don Santa’s suit and be the next Father Christmas. Does this mean a new Santa will be introduced in The Santa Clauses Episode 3? Will it be Simon Choksi (Kal Penn)?

Scott’s Decision to Retire

Scott decided to retire after 28 years as Santa Clause. As he thought of his next successor, he approached his son, Charlie, as his first choice.

The man declined, citing that he needed to raise his own family and believed the North Pole wasn’t the best place to do so.

Though Scott respects Charlie’s decision, is it possible for the latter to change his mind?

Charlie has been Scott’s number one supporter to become Santa himself since the movie began in the 1990s. However, he saw how his father’s other persona affected him in the second movie, The Santa Clause 2.

Charlie believes in the importance of Santa Clause, but he knows how big of a responsibility it is. His family is his priority, so moving to the North Pole and leaving their lives in Florida is not part of an option for him.

Will Simon Become the Next Santa Clause?

Disney+ is yet to drop The Santa Clauses Episode 3 preview, but the previous episode already hinted at what might happen next.

The episode ended with an elf showing up at Simon’s house, forcing him and his daughter, Grace (Rupali Redd), to come to the North Pole.

Simon just had a bad meeting at work, so seeing an elf, let alone being forced to move, was the last thing he wanted.

He, too, didn’t believe in elves or Santa, so he just didn’t respond to the elf’s request. However, it didn’t stop the elf from showing him and Grace some magic.

So, why would the elf want Simon at the North Pole? There are theories he may be Scott’s successor as Santa, thanks to his delivery technology.

But knowing he has different beliefs, it remains to be seen if Simon will accept the offer. So, how will Scott manage to convince him?
