The Umbrella Academy Season 2 Will Not be Delayed Due to the Coronavirus

Netflix's The Umbrella Academy made some headlines when its first season debuted, filled with the same quirkiness and character-driven stories that made the comic book so popular. In fact, the show actually managed to convert some viewers into comic book fans, with some of the graphic novels selling out when the first season was at an all-time high. Due to COVID-19, most of us figured that The Umbrella Academy Season 2 would be a bit delayed since there hasn't been much news on its production but that doesn't appear to be the case.

While shooting did conclude last year, there's still a lot of editing that has to be done, especially since this show has a lot of superhero-like special effects. However, it seems like things are going a bit smoother in the editing department since showrunner Steve Blackman, who is not the former WWF Hardcore Champion, gave fans a post-production update on Instagram.

Blackman shows us some of the editings and swears that everyone on duty is washing their hands to make sure no one gets the Coronavirus. Cute joke aside, this is a pretty neat update and should be reassuring to fans who need more Netflix shows to binge. We could always use more of The Umbrella Academy in our lives and this should hit that sweet spot.

As of this writing, no release date for The Umbrella Academy Season 2 has been revealed, though it is expected to come out this year.
