The Suicide Squad Star Comments On James Gunn Returning In Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol 3

It seems like everything is working out perfectly now that James Gunn has been reinstated as the director of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. This is something that David Dastmalchian firmly believes in. The Suicide Squad star stated that Gunn's return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe film is proof that the world is still a great place to be.

Dastmalchian recently spoke to Comicbook.com about his upcoming film and the Ant-Man and the Wasp star pointed out that everything is working out just great with Gunn getting the second chance he deserves.

"The fact that he's making The Suicide Squad, the fact that he's making f---ing Guardians 3 fills my little nerdy soul with so much joy," Dastmalchian said of Gunn. "Because you know, when I read that he was back on Guardians 3, there was something that just felt like...as crazy as a moment that we're living in right now...I felt like the universe righted itself just slightly. I think that all of us are so grateful that that man is making movies in this genre."

Not surprisingly, Dastmalchian has nothing but praise for Gunn. Instead of sharing details about his character Polka-Dot Man in The Suicide Squad, the Dune actor chose to heap praise on the director.

"I mean, here's what I can tell you. There's this man in the universe, in the galaxy named James and he's the master of just a form of storytelling that I think doesn't just entertain audiences, it literally transports audiences," Dastmalchian said.

Sure, we're happy that Gunn is working both for Marvel and DC. As Dastmalchian puts it, it could be the universe's way of making sure thing will work out fine in the end.

The Suicide Squad is currently in production and is expected to premiere on August 6, 2021.
