The Suicide Squad Director James Gunn Posts Heartfelt Message to Italy During Numerous Reported Coronavirus Cases

There is little doubt that the whole world is currently dealing with the Coronavirus outbreak (COVID-19). However, Italy has been greatly affected by numerous cases being reported in Rome alone. Not surprisingly, filmmaker James Gunn decided to show his support for Italy as well as other countries in a heartfelt post.

Gunn took to his official Instagram account to write a lengthy message supporting Italy. The Suicide Squad director also shared an awesome photo taken from the time he spent in Rome. Check it out below.

"I've gotten so many messages from followers in Italy the past couple days who are scared as they go through this pandemic. This photo was taken on New Years Eve 2019 in Rome, one of the many great moments I've had in your country over the years," Gunn wrote. "My heart is with all of you, as well as all my friends in China, Iran, Germany, South Korea, Spain, France, and all around the world whose lives have been touched by this virus."

Gunn then added a few tips on how to deal with the pandemic.

"Please be kind to each other. Stay home. Social distancing is key. Flatten the curve (no that's not a flat earther comment - Google it). We'll get through this together. Love to you all," he wrote.

It's a simple gesture that was greatly appreciated by fans around the world. Needless to say, Gunn's message gives us hope that we can get through the COVID-19 pandemic soon.

Gunn has just wrapped up production on The Suicide Squad and is expected to begin work on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 by early 2021.
