The Sound of Magic might be the next hit Netflix series after Squid Game, Hellbound, and more K-drama series’ success.

As early as July 2020, Love in the Moonlight and Itaewon Class director Kim Seong Yoon began his talks with Netflix to direct the six-episode original drama. Titled Annarasumanara, the streaming giant plotted to base the upcoming series on the Naver webtoon of the same name created by Ha Il Kwon.

His previous Love in the Moonlight colleague, writer Kim Min Jeong, was helmed to make the script.

Nearly a year later, Netflix announced its production with the partnership of JTBC Studios and Content Zium.
