Though he was a no show in Shazam!, the Rock's Black Adam will be debuting in his own solo movie. We know that the film will start shooting sometime next year, but now the Rock himself has dropped an official release date as well as a teaser poster.

I'll admit, I didn't think that the movie would come out in 2021; with its December release date, Black Adam is officially the third DC film coming out that year. In June we'll have The Batman and in August James Gunn's The Suicide Squad.
As for the look of the Rock in the poster, I have a feeling this is just concept art from Jim Lee. I'd imagine they'd come up with something more intricate when it comes to the final look of the character. I mean, if Shazam is going to look the way he does, we can only expect more or less the same from Black Adam.
I have to say, I'm kind of curious what kind of character the Rock's Black Adam is going to be. Admittedly the Rock has only been playing himself in past movies, and I would want someone with a bit more gravitas when it comes to a villain like Black Adam. If Joker has proved anything, it's that dark DC movies can be hits too, and not everything has to be Marvel's brand of kid-friendly.
