Ever since the Knights of Ren were seen in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, the characters have always had this shrouded mystery that fans were fond of. The Knights became one of the most talked-about villains in the trilogy ever since. Although Johnson didn't feature the villains in The Last Jedi, The Knights are expected to appear in The Rise of Skywalker. There's a catch though.

Unlike Kylo Ren who psurprisingly removed his helmet in The Force Awakens, the Knights are said to be concealing their identities all throughout TROS. ScreenRant shared some details from the new book Ultimate Star Wars New Edition, which points out they are so mysterious, even their species are unknown.

A fan also shared an entry from the book which describes the said villains. "The Knights of Ren are Kylo Ren's most deadly and mysterious servants. With their bodies encased in rusty, battered, armor and their faces permanently concealed beneath ominous masks - echoing that of the new Supreme Leader himself - even their species remains a mystery." Check out the whole entry below:

This might come as a disappointment to some fans since Kylo Ren removed his helmet and revealed his face, also since fan-favorite character Boba Fett never removed his helmet until his introduction in Attack of the Clones.

The Knights' true identities won't likely be revealed in J.J. Abrams' The Rise of Skywalker since it looks like the franchise won't be planning on it. Given their description which had a sort of ominous tone, The Knights' identities are most certainly not going to be revealed anytime soon.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker premieres in theaters on December 20th.
