There were a lot of cool scenes in The Rise of Skywalker that longtime fans really appreciated, among those is Rey's scene towards the final part of the movie where she managed to rise up after being urged by familiar voices. However, Star Wars fans recently learned that the scene could have allegedly been way cooler.

This article contains SPOILERS for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.

When Rey was laying on the ground and it seemed like all hope is lost, she hears the Past Jedi voices which urged her to stand up, fight, and beat Emperor Palpatine once and for all. Fans were surprised and emotional when they heard the voices of Obi-Wan Kenobi, Anakin Skywalker, Ashoka Tano, and Mace Windu, amongst the other Past Jedi, in the final installment of the Skywalker Saga. However, according to these leaks from Redditor egoshoppe, the movie originally had a live-action Force Ghost scene instead of just voices.

"Older actors were included like Hayden [Christensen], Ewan [McGregor], and Samuel [Jackson] and anyone who wasn't animated," the user wrote. The Redditor claims the studio shot some footage and the actors were even in their costumes. So instead of Rey hearing their voices, these Past Jedi Force Ghosts helped Rey by acting as a "barrier between her and the Sith surrounding them."

"My source thinks but can't 100% confirm that this is because of China," the user wrote. "It's an office talk of sorts. Some VFX people claimed they got a list of approved shades of blue they could use on the Luke force ghosts."

The Redditor also claims that cutting this scene out was "when bad blood turned into a nightmare for J.J. [Abrams]" because the movie he's making was "suddenly unrecognizable to him."

If these claims were true, it's unfortunate that we didn't get to see the rest of the characters in that scene because it would have been definitely cool. Some fans even got #ReleaseTheJJCut trending on Twitter where they pointed out that Disney basically wasted their time if they shot some scenes with the aforementioned actors but ended up cutting it out.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is now showing in theaters.
