The Punisher’s Jon Bernthal Teases Season 2

Netflix might have sparked concern among Marvel fans after canceling Marvel TV shows like Iron Fist and Luke Cage, but that doesn't mean that it's the end for the rest of the streaming site's Marvel offerings. In fact, it looks like Frank Castle actor Jon Bernthal might actually be teasing the announcement of the release date of The Punisher's second season on Netflix.

Earlier this morning, The Punisher's official Twitter account shared a GIF image of Frank Castle engaging in a bloody brawl with an opponent. Retweeting the post, the actor then started igniting speculation writing "tick.tock."

Check out the post down here:

It's a clear tease, and we're excited to see what Bernthal really meant by his post, hoping that a season 2 release date announcement really is on the way. There's a lot of anticipation building up over the next season of The Punisher – fans want to know more about what the future holds for the series. Where is the Punisher's quest for vengeance going to take him in season 2?

Speaking in an interview with ComicBook.com during this year's San Diego Comic-Con, Marvel's Chief Creative Officer Joe Quesada promised fans that the new episodes of The Punisher would give them exactly what they've been looking for.

"Last year, this time, I was going around telling people like you [Punisher is] the best show we may have done," Quesada said. "I think there were three fans on the floor, they were like, ‘Come on, man.' I'm like, ‘If you don't think it's the best show that we've done and if [Jon] Bernthal is not Frank Castle, I will pay your Netflix subscription for a year.' Never collected. Thank God."

One of the most exciting aspects of the new season is its baddie – photos taken from the set of The Punisher season 2 tease the transformation of Ben Barns into Jigsaw. We're hoping we finally get to learn more about the new episodes in the next few weeks.
