The Predator Officially Receives An R-Rating For Violence And Crude Sex References

It looks like Shane Black's The Predator is officially getting an R-rating.

According to a report by Movie Web, 20th Century Fox's newest Predator movie has just been given an R-Rating for "strong bloody violence, language throughout, and crude sexual references."

The news doesn't come as much of a surprise considering that the Predator franchise has always been extremely violent, but Black has also been promising fans that his Predator movie was going to be as gory as possible. Last year, the director went on Twitter to tell those following his project that The Predator would definitely be an R-rated film because "PG-13 is for pusses" and because "spines bleed... a lot."

This is definitely great news for Predator fans. Sure the trailers for The Predator haven't been as violent and as dark as fans were expecting, but the official R-Rating confirms that everyone is going to have a bloody good time when the film hits cinemas later this year.

Audiences have slowly been accepting more and more R-rated movies in mainstream media with the release of films like Logan and Deadpool, so it's great to hear that The Predator is sticking to its guns as promised.

Starring Boyd Holbrook, Jacob Tremblay, Trevante Rhodes, Keegan-Michael Key, Olivia Munn, Alfie Allen, Sterling K. Brown and Alfie Allen, The Predator is set for release this September 14.
