The Predator might not have been a huge hit at the box office but it did provide us with a new look at the terrifying aliens and their Hell-Hounds. However, newly revealed concept art for the 20th Century Fox flick reveals there were other scary creatures that could've been hunting humans as well.
Concept artist Constantine Sekeris has been sharing most of his works on his official Instagram account. His most recent post is the concept art for The Predator that depicts a horrifying new creature that can only be described as some sort of spider/monkey/Predator hybrid. Check it out below.
Sekeris revealed that director Shane Black and production designer Martin Whist had wanted these strange, multi-limbed hybrids right from the start. He also shared that the Predator monkeys were not the only scary creatures that were supposed to appear in The Predator.
"I'm not sure if 3D were in the ship in the pods or the Predator Scientists/Emmisaries [sic] were experimenting with different animals and mixing DNA. I think there were some initial quick ideas and wanted to see some quick options to explore if it was something to refine later. In the end, all that was cut out of the final edit of the film."
The idea that the alien hunters probably had several other creatures in their ship is certainly enough to make anyone shake in their boots. However, it's something that could potentially give The Predator an awesome edge. We're not sure if we'll be seeing a sequel in the future but we're certainly hoping to see what other creatures the Predators have been working on.
