Disney might have announced its decision to push back the release of The New Mutants last week, but that doesn't mean that the film has been canceled. While the Mickey Mouse House has yet to assign a new release date to 20th Century Fox's X-Men spinoff, the company continues to promote the highly anticipated comic book movie.
Thanks to Empire, Marvel fans get a brand new image of Blu Hunt's The New Mutants character, Danielle Moonstar. A hero otherwise known as Mirage, Moonstar is a mutant that can create illusions based on people's desires and fears. In the picture that Empire has of Mirage, fans get to see the character stuck in the middle of a storm.

Speaking in an interview with the entertainment news outlet, Hunt opens up about the role, saying that it was an honor for her to play a superhero of indigenous roots in The New Mutants.
"I'm not just in the background to please people, I'm carrying the movie," the actress told Empire.
We're definitely excited to see Mirage in the movie. The mutant has been featured heavily throughout all the trailers and TV spots that Disney's released for the movie. It's clear that Danielle is going to play a major role in the film.
However, as eager as everyone is to see The New Mutants, we have to wait for Disney to announce a new release date for the film. The entertainment industry has been hit hard by the spread of COVID-19. Not only has the virus resulted in the cancellation of major events, but it's also delayed quite a number of films, including Black Widow and Mulan.
The New Mutants has yet to receive a new release date from Disney but we'll update everyone as soon as we get word.
