Disney and 20th Century Studios (yuck) have released a TV spot for The New Mutants, which still feels surreal. It wasn't that long ago when many of us thought that the movie was going to get canned and we're more than happy to see this movie get more love now that it's actually coming out. We doubt that this movie is going to be a part of the larger MCU but that won't matter; we just want a fun, self-contained movie.
The TV spot has a decent mix of recycled and new footage, emphasizing the horror aspect of this movie. We all knew that this was going to be the case but it's nice to see them advertise it as a horror film. Some fans were worried about the second trailer since it did show more superhero moments in the end but this short TV spot goes back to the horror element.
We're all hoping that The New Mutants blends its horror elements well, especially since the original comic book that this movie is based on was able to do that really well. For those unaware, The Demon Bear Saga is the most popular story of The New Mutants comic books, having been revisited and reprinted multiple times.
After years of waiting for it, X-Men fans are rejoicing over the fact that The New Mutants will be coming out this year. Fans will be able to catch the film on April 3.
