The New Dungeons & Dragons Movie Gets A Director

Last summer, Warner Bros. acquired the rights to make a Dungeons & Dragons film, but now a director has been hired to helm it.

Goosebumps director Rob Letterman is on board to direct the latest live-action Dungeons & Dragons film for Warner Bros., Variety reports. As many of you already know, the film is based on the popular fantasy tabletop role-playing game designed by Gary Gygax and Dave Arneson. A film adaptation was released in 2000, but its reception was largely negative. Hopefully, Letterman could bring the franchise to a new light just like what he did with the Goosebumps movie.

With Duncan Jones' Warcraft coming and Game of Thrones director Bryan Cogman developing a Magic: The Gathering film, it looks like a great resurgence of fantasy films and TV shows are coming. We're also getting an American Gods TV series and The Dark Tower films! A great era of fantasy films is coming, and I can't wait to see them all.
