The Marvel Cinematic Universe has obviously revolved around one super-team all these years and that's the Avengers aka the Earth's Mightiest Heroes and it isn't hard to understand how overly reliant Kevin Feige has been with them. However, fans have been dying to see a crossover between them and Netflix's MCU quartet The Defenders and while it's a shame it has yet happen given the fact that the Marvel Netflix shows are supposedly canon, it's still likely to happen somewhere down the line.

Now, this new fan image assembles the two powerful Marvel teams together but don't worry, they are not dealing with the usually chaotic superhero life. Created by artist Timetravel6000, the fan art takes inspiration from the first Avengers film's post-credits scene where they stop by a Shawarma place after the grueling Battle of New York, only this time around, they're joined by Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, Iron Fist and Daredevil. As I've mentioned, the MCU's over-reliance on the Avengers could come to an end in the near future as Disney has finally acquired the rights to Fox's superhero properties. That of course means that we'll get to see elite teams like the X-Men and FantasticFour in Earth-616 really soon. However, that spells bad news for the fate of the Defenders considering the fact that Marvel Studios' top priority, for now, is the aforementioned teams, and quite frankly, it's the smartest thing to do given the fact that these set of characters are far more established and well-known even to the most casual of fans. That's not to say though that I wouldn't want to see Daredevil, Iron Fist, Luke Cage, and Jessica Jones reunite on the big screen, preferably with the same set of actors because they totally deserve the spotlight.

Meanwhile, in other MCU news, the rights to Daredevil will officially come back to Marvel later this month.
