It's probably no longer a secret to some fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe that Marvel Studios and Kevin Feige have made efforts over the years to sign Keanu Reeves to a deal but his packed Hollywood schedule has prevented any chances of him ever joining the billion-dollar franchise. However, the stars are seemingly aligning as Keanu himself has recently expressed his interest in starring in a Marvel project, something that shouldn't come as a surprise given his previous stint in the DC universe.

Now, we still don't know what the future holds for the star of The Matrix Resurrections but turns out, his road to get to the MCU is just a matter of "when". In an encouraging new update regarding his much-talked-about potential Marvel casting, Keanu told ComicBook that he recently met with Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige to discuss a few things.

While Reeves pretty much confirmed the long-standing rumors of him having negotiations with the studio, he revealed that an offer hasn't been made yet and as it stands, they've yet to find a project and a role that would suit the acting icon. He said: "We haven’t [found a project] yet. We have met, and [Kevin Feige]’s a cool cat. Yeah. But no, we don’t have anything, gotta find something."

I don't know about you but I firmly believe that Keanu's arrival to the MCU is upon us and the timing couldn't have been any better in my opinion. Now, the real question is, which character would he end up playing in the franchise? I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Meanwhile, The Matrix Resurrections is now showing in cinemas and on HBO Max.
