Lashana Lynch made her surprise MCU return in the mid-credits scene of The Marvels where she showed up as Binary in a universe that is seemingly set in the Fox X-Men world.
It marked the actress' third appearance in the franchise after playing the main MCU variant of Maria Rambeau in Captain Marvel and a Captain Marvel Earth-838 variant in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
So far, there are no details yet regarding what's next for Lynch in the Multiverse Saga with the reveal of her new character, but it certainly posed a lot of questions for fans who are eager to find out more following the major reveal.
For the first time since the film's release last November, the actress has finally addressed her new MCU role.

Lashana Lynch Addresses Her MCU Return in The Marvels
In an interview with Screen Rant, Lashana Lynch discussed her recent appearance as Binary in The Marvels and was asked whether the universe where she's seen is the same as the Fox X-Men movies.
"I did know going into the movie. I didn't know what would happen next. I don't know anything, literally," she said.
"Every single increment of the character has been play-by-play, so I knew about Captain Marvel, then I knew about Doctor Strange, and then I knew about The Marvels. I didn't even get the script for that, I just had those moments. I know what you know, and that's it."
Despite being an integral part of the scene and being present on the X-Men Universe set, the actress has also no idea about what the mid-credits scene reveal really entails and what's next for her character in future films.
Hopefully, we finally get an answer regarding the implications of Monica Rambeau's arrival in the X-Men Universe and learn more about Lynch's Binary variant in a future project.
It wouldn't be surprising at this point if we'll see them again in Deadpool 3 since it will be heavily connected to the Fox X-Men movies and that's the best opportunity for them to address the mid-credits scene twist satisfyingly.
In the end, it's still great to see Lynch remaining in the MCU despite Maria's death in the present-day timeline and the multiverse concept certainly helps them to find more ways to bring her back.
The Marvels is set to begin streaming on Disney+ this February 7.
