A number of weeks have passed and fans are still talking about Baby Yoda's viral act from The Mandalorian's tenth chapter. In case you haven't been following Season 2, The Child found himself in the middle of a controversy after munching on Frog Lady's eggs. Lucasfilm has since defended the scene by revealing that the eggs were, in fact, unfertilized but that didn't stop some people from criticizing the adorable fellow and they totally meant it.
One of the show's lead stars Giancarlo Esposito, who plays Moff Gideon in the hit Star Wars spinoff series has come out to air his two cents regarding the issue. In a new interview with Entertainment Weekly, Esposito pretty much gave Baby Yoda a pass for his "dastardly" act just because he's cute. Awww. He said, "Baby Yoda is a very pure spirit, and yet 50 years old, so he's someone who's very highly intelligent, but also has to survive. And we need to keep that baby happy. We've all fallen in love with The Child and The Child has some compassion and is funny and is absolutely the cutest thing you've ever seen."
It seems like the issue surrounding Baby Yoda's egg-munching act won't come to an end anytime soon and I honestly believe some fans are being a little too pressed about it more than they should be. Speaking of Baby Yoda and Moff Gideon, it's now clear why the Galactic Empire is after the Force-sensitive creature and judging by the previous episode. It won't be long until he gains possession of the Child for his evil plans.
The Mandalorian Season 2 is now streaming on Disney+.
