It's been over a year since Disney and Lucasfilm "unceremoniously" ousted Gina Carano from the Star Wars universe, leaving Cara Dune's future in The Mandalorian uncertain. Unsurprisingly, the former mixed martial arts fighter's controversial firing from the franchise is still the subject of discussion within the community.

Since her removal, we've never heard from Gina's colleagues like Pedro Pascal and even producers Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni. However, one co-star has constantly shown his support for the actress, and it turns out, he still has Carano's back.

Bill Burr, who played villain-turned-good-guy Migs Mayfeld is once again calling out Disney for its "unfair" handling of the entire Gina Carano situation. Speaking with The Hollywood Reporter, the 53-year-old comedian is still bewildered over the company's decision to let go of the actress just because of her personal views and beliefs.

He said: "No. I thought it was funny that the liberals proved her point. They just use outrage because they don’t like your politics. As someone who considers himself liberal, it’s disappointing to see the left become how the right used to be when they went after the Dixie Chicks after they criticized George W. Bush. There’s not a lot of people like that — most are just trying not to get in trouble — but there’s this small collection of lunatics — either on the right or the left, at any given moment – that cause hysteria."

"And now there’s so many [media outlets] that want eyeballs, they make money off advertising, that they give attention to these crazy fringe people. The whole thing with Gina: You can’t chime in when the shit’s happening, because then you cause static for other people on the [show]. That somebody’s opinion — or their political beliefs — makes people try to destroy their ability to make a living, it’s f*cking bizarre to me."

It'll be interesting to see if Burr's latest remarks will affect his potential return to the MandoVerse especially given the fact that Season 2 left the door wide open for Migs Mayfeld's return. I mean, it wouldn't be surprising because the House of Mouse is notorious for taking things a little too personally at times.

Meanwhile, The Mandalorian's release date has yet to be announced.
