The Mandalorian Star Pedro Pascal in Talks to Join Nicolas Cage Meta Movie

The upcoming Nicolas Cage movie about Nicolas Cage could be adding a cast member who isn't Nicolas Cage. It has been confirmed that The Mandalorian actor Pedro Pascal might join the Ghost Rider star in the meta action-comedy.

According to The Wrap, Pascal is currently in negotiations to appear in The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent. If a deal is made, the former Game of Thrones actor will play Javi, the "Nic Cage superfan who is not all that he appears to be." This means Pascal might portray the character responsible for all the zany shenanigans in the film.

The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent will feature Cage playing a version of himself who accepts a deal where he will make an appearance at a wealthy super fan's birthday. However, the fan turns out to be a wanted man and Cage finds himself caught up in a strange mission. We won't tell you more but there is little doubt that this is one crazy movie.

The film will be directed by Tom Gormican, who co-wrote the screenplay with Kevin Etten. Interestingly, the script had initially created enough buzz to catch Cage's attention. Although Cage had only wanted to produce the project, he would later agree to play himself in the movie.

Pascal is expected to reprise his role in The Mandalorian Season 2, which has not yet been given an official release date. Nevertheless, the series is already set to return on Disney+ by October.
