Last time we saw Giancarlo Esposito's Moff Gideon, his TIE Fighter has crashed in The Mandalorian season finale. He managed to survive and was revealed to have been in possession of the iconic Darksaber. On a hunt for The Child and isn't likely to give up anytime soon, the actor teases more surprises for his part and a larger role in the second season of the show.

In a recent interview with Indie Wire, Esposito talks about the ancient weapon and what to expect in Season 2. "It is certainly to be revealed, and I don't know how it will unfold," he said. "But I do know we get some more inklings of how he got this saber."

"We've seen his TIE fighter, and that's an ancient throwback in the world that we're in now," the actor continued. Esposito says fans will have to wait to understand more about Moff got a hold of the Darksaber and even guarantees that those clues will be given in the upcoming season.

Esposito also teased that there may be "some surprises because we have an Empire that's fallen." "And we have wardens of those Empires, of which Moff Gideon is one," he said. "But he's a special warden because he happens to know more than any other."

Of course, the actor can't go into specifics yet, teasing Moff's plans of either knowing what Baby Yoda "is made of," or to "further humanity" or to take control of all of it. Well, It's only a matter of time until we find out when The Mandalorian Season 2 arrives on Disney+ this October.
