The Mandalorian Star Giancarlo Esposito Sticks Up for Gina Carano Amid Political Controversy

I believe it goes without saying that Gina Carano is a walking controversy magnet and the things she says on social media regarding socio-political issues seem to trigger a lot of people. When the former Mandalorian star was fired from Disney earlier this year, it seems like none of her co-stars from the hit Disney+ series reached out to the actress but the general belief amongst fans is they're just trying their best to stay on the House of Mouse's good side.

Now, months following her newsmaking ousting from the Star Wars franchise, one of Carano's The Mandalorian co-stars is sticking up for the ex-mixed martial arts fighter despite her questionable opinions on important topics. Giancarlo Esposito, who plays Moff Gideon in the MandoVerse recently attended the Fan Expo Denver 2021 event (via Bounding Into Comics), the Breaking Bad actor said nothing but kind words to Carano, even calling her one of his favorite co-stars.

He said: "I loved working with her. She’s warm, and beautiful, and wonderful. And I don’t care what her politics are. I love the fact that she came to acting late and that she was so raw and original and beautiful. And I just think she’s a lovely person. So I shout her out and I say she’s one of my favorites."

Desposito recently slammed actors who are campaigning against COVID-19 vaccines so it comes as a huge shock that he's seemingly okay with Gina's controversial sentiments. I guess at the end of the day, respect still comes into play. Still, that doesn't give her any right to spew negativity and misinformation on social media. Gina's ways still need to be changed.

Meanwhile, The Mandalorian Season 3 is currently filming.
