Following their thrilling return to Tattoine in The Mandalorian's Chapter 9, Mando and his trusty companion The Child are now set to embark on a brand new journey, this time at sea. The series' tenth chapter which arrives this Friday on Disney+ has already been teased and it pretty much confirms that the action will take place in a water planet of some sort, something that was originally teased when we first saw the trailer. The upcoming episode's synopsis reads:
"The Mandalorian must ferry a passenger with precious cargo on a risky journey."
Now, the upcoming episode of the hit spinoff is monumental for the entire Star Wars franchise as it's rare that we see stories take place in the ocean. This, of course, begs the question: could a classic Star Wars character make his way return in the series? The character in question is none other than Admiral Ackbar. The good folks over at Inverse speculates that given the fact Mando and Baby Yoda are riding a ferry to a certain destination, the next episode could reintroduce us to Mon Calamari and ultimately Ackbar whose "It's a trap" line is among the most iconic dialogues in all of Star Wars. Of course, nothing has been confirmed yet and it's all purely speculation for now so like I always say, take everything with a grain of salt.
If it does end up becoming true, I wouldn't be surprised at all as Season 2 seems to be centered around returns and arrivals. We've already seen a teaser of Boba Fett's stunning comeback in Chapter 9 and even a welcome appearance from Tusken Raiders, so I guess an Ackbar appearance isn't exactly too farfetched when you think about it and I'm telling you right now, it's going to be a massive treat for all the fans out there.
That said, Chapter 10 of The Mandalorian hits Disney+ this Friday, November 6th.
