The Mandalorian Reveals Awesome Look at Young Din Djarin in Star Wars Concept Art

There is little doubt that one of the most powerful sequences in the first season of The Mandalorian was the flashback to Mando's childhood. After all, the scene confirmed that Din Djarin was rescued by the Mandalorian Death Watch when his home was attacked by the Empire. Now, we have a better look at the young Djarin through a new Star Wars art book.

The concept art from The Art of Star Wars: The Mandalorian was revealed at New York Comic Con and it confirms that the show originally meant for Mando to be a lot younger when he was saved by the Death Watch. Check it out below.

Lucasfilm creative art manager Phil Szostak pointed out why the concept art was important to the ongoing story of The Mandalorian.

"It's a really beautiful piece, and I think it encapsulates the show because it shows that Din Djarin, when he was young, needed to be rescued in the same way that the Child does in the present day," Szostak said.

The scene from The Mandalorian Season 1 certainly explained why Mando was compelled to save Baby Yoda from his captors. In a way, it also confirms that the destiny of the two characters is entwined.

The Art of Star Wars: The Mandalorian is co-written by Szostak and Doug Chiang with Abrams Abrams Books and will be released in December. The Mandalorian Season 2 will premiere on Disney+ on October 30.
