The Mandalorian Season 3's finale offered fans some much-needed clarity surrounding the show's primary connection to the sequel trilogy. You see, in the previous season, it was revealed that Moff Gideon was orchestrating a cloning experiment and viewers automatically assumed it had ties to Supreme Leader Snoke's existence.

It turns out, Gideon was out to clone himself, and with the help of Grogu's blood, he made an army of Moff Gideon duplicates that would have carried the Force. Unfortunately for the cunning villain, Din Djarin and the Child foil his plans after discovering where his clone chamber is located.

Following the destruction of Gideon's would-have-been clones, it led to a heated contest between him and Mando which the latter would eventually win, thanks to the collective forces of the Mandalorian tribes led by Bo-Katan Kryze.

Now, it appears that The Mandalorian's Chapter 24 scrapped a pivotal scene featuring Giancarlo Esposito's notorious character and his legions of clones.

As revealed by the actor on social media through a set of behind-the-scenes photos, one scene would have seen Gideon head to his clone chamber after it was destroyed by Mando and Grogu but unfortunately, it ended up getting deleted. Check out the photos below:

It's honestly quite baffling why Rick Famuyiwa decided to scrap that particular sequence because it's not like that additional scene would have hurt the finale, especially considering Chapter 24 had one of the shortest runtimes in the show's history.

Keeping that scene would have also showcased Gideon's anguish but I guess the show's creatives didn't want the viewers to see the Imperial leader in a completely different light.

All three seasons of The Mandalorian are available to stream on Disney+.
