The Mandalorian: How Did Boba Fett Save Fennec Shand's Life?

There is little doubt that Fennec Shand was an instant fan favorite when she showed up in the first season of The Mandalorian. Sadly, the character was immediately killed off in Chapter 5: The Gunslinger. So how exactly did Ming-Na Wen's character manage to survive and return in Season 2? As it turns out, Boba Fett was the one who saved her and he used a pretty cool way to make sure she doesn't die.

In Chapter 5: The Gunslinger, Fennec was shot in the stomach and left for dead. However, the final moments of the episode also showed a mysterious figure approaching her body. Fans have long speculated that the stranger could be Boba Fett and that he might try to save her. Not surprisingly, the latest episode of The Mandalorian Season 2 confirmed just that and even revealed how Boba managed to do so.

In Chapter 14: The Tragedy, Mando was understandably surprised to see that Fennec is still alive. However, Boba quickly explained why he decided to save the assassin. "She was left for dead on the sands of Tatooine, as was I. But fate sometimes steps in to rescue the wretched," Boba said. Fennec then adds, "In my case, Boba Fett was that fate," before revealing circuits and wires in her stomach.

It's no surprise that Boba had to use cybernetics to save Fennec's life. After all, the Star Wars Universe is filled with characters who could have been dead but have been saved by cybernetics. There's Darth Maul, who was cut in half in The Phantom Menace but made an awesome return in Star Wars: The Clone Wars. Needless to say, we're happy that Boba was able to save Fennec.
