The Mandalorian's Giancarlo Esposito Eager to Return for Another Breaking Bad Spin-Off

It looks like Giancarlo Esposito doesn't want to stop working in the Breaking Bad universe. The star of The Mandalorian has just admitted that he wants to continue playing Gustavo Fring even after Better Call Saul ends with its sixth season. Interestingly, Esposito is open to exploring Gus' story in a spin-off that would focus on the character for a change!

Gus Fring may have been killed off in Breaking Bad but that didn't stop the character from returning in the spin-off series Better Call Saul. But now that his character has returned, it looks like Giancarlo Esposito wants to stop playing Gus. While speaking to Insider, the Maze Runner: Death Cure star pointed out that Vince Gilligan gave him the idea that he could continue being Gus in the future.

"The last days [on set of Better Call Saul], I'm tearing up and looking over my shoulder and I hear Vince say, 'You never know,'" Esposito said. "And so, I've always wanted, and felt like, there's room for material for the rise of Gus. I feel like it'd be interesting to know where he came from."

He continued by sharing his thoughts on what Gus' life was like before Breaking Bad.

"I feel like he came from a really wealthy family, had the opportunity to run, not only the family, but government in another country. He had that kind of brain, that charisma, that stature, and he traded it in because he wanted to be his own man. There's something fascinating to me about that," Esposito said.

We're loving the idea of yet another Breaking Bad spin-off and that this time it could focus on Gus. However, there haven't been any updates on another show, at least for now.

Giancarlo Esposito is set to return as Moff Gideon in The Mandalorian Season 3, which is expected to premiere later this year.
