The Mandalorian Composer Teases an Unexpected Story for the Second Season

After a successful first season last year, Disney+ is set to bring back The Mandalorian this December. Fans are expecting the first teaser to drop sometime this month, and composer Ludwig Goransson is teasing what to expect from Din Djarin for Season 2.

Talking to Deadline, Goransson had talked a lot about the process of creating the score for Mando and his collaboration with showrunner Jon Favreau. When it came to talking about the second season, Goransson explained, "We started a couple of months ago, and I'm extremely excited… Jon's taking the story into places that I didn't know existed, and I think it's so fun."

With the first season of Mandalorian very sparing with its fanservice, it looks like the second season is going to be bringing a lot of more familiar faces to the table. Rumor has it that Rosario Dawson has been cast as the live-action Ahsoka Tano, and we're also said to be getting appearances from the likes of Boba Fett and Captain Rex—both played by Attack of the Clones' Temuera Morrison. Even Katee Sackhoff is said to be playing Mando royalty Bo Katan.

While I'm excited to see live-action interpretations of these characters, I'm hoping that Mandalorian Season 2 also brings some new things to the table. There's still so much to know about Din Djarin, and it would be great if we could see his history of training or his life before he decided to keep the helmet on 24/7.

The Mandalorian Season 2 is expected to come back this October on Disney+.
