I think we can all agree that there's nothing bad you can say about The Mandalorian Season 2's grand finale which had Star Wars fans at the edge of their seats. Nearly two years after it premiered, the entire fandom is still gushing over "Chapter 16: The Rescue", the episode which featured the jaw-dropping return of Luke Skywalker who singlehandedly obliterated Moff Gideon's seemingly indestructible Dark troopers.

Skywalker's cameo may have been brief but his actions set the stage for his eventual return to the MandoVerse along with Grogu aka Baby Yoda who is currently under his care. Now, Lucasfilm is releasing an art book centered on The Mandalorian Season 2 and it might have revealed gigantic plans for the finale that didn't take place.

StarWars.com (via ComicBookMovie) released several official images from The Art of Star Wars: The Mandalorian Season 2 and one concept art seems to tease a clash between Din Djarin and Luke. The said art sees Luke's arrival in Gideon's base with Mando wielding the darksaber, seemingly ready to strike the famed Jedi Master. Check out the image below:

To be fair, not only did the people in the light cruiser know the identity of the Jedi who suddenly emerged from out of nowhere but they also had no idea what his true motives are. Obviously, he was on the side of good and wanted to aid Mando and his crew. I gotta say though, it would have been cool to see Mando and Luke in an epic darksaber vs lightsaber battle but who knows, it still might happen in the future.

All two seasons of The Mandalorian are available for streaming on Disney+.
