It looks like Captain Kirk will be boarding the U.S.S. Enterprise again!

In a rumor coming from The Cinema Spot, CBS All Access is reportedly moving forward with a Star Trek: Enterprise series. While this spinoff series is expected to center around Captain Pike, the outlet also claims that James. T Kirk could appear as well, in the form of Star Wars: The Mandalorian star Jake Cannavale.

The streaming service is reportedly eyeing multiple actors at the moment, but sources close to CBS All Access claim that they are "very keen" on casting Cannavale for the part. He was also said to recently have had a screentest through Skype with Discovery actor Ethan Peck. The Mandalorian star is said to play a young version of Captain Kirk if he ever signs on to the project.

Kirk first appeared in Star Trek: The Original Series where he led his crew to explore new worlds and civilizations that no one has gone to before. Spock often acts as his more logical crew member, and of course, best friend.

Aside from that, the outlet also says the series will follow Captain Pike as he and his crew "take the Enterprise out on a new five-year mission to explore strange new worlds."

For now, this is only a rumor and should be taken with a grain of salt. That said, it'll be interesting to see Cannavale's take on the young version of the character if he ever gets the role.
