The Magical Revolution of the Reincarnated Princess or Tensei Oujo has caught the attention of anime fans with its fresh take on the isekai genre, making it a highly anticipated series in the Winter 2023 season. Is The Magical Revolution of the Reincarnated Princess Based on a Light Novel?
Tensei Oujo is based on a light novel series that's illustrated by Yuri Kisaragi and written by Piero Karasu. It was serialized on Shosetsuka ni Naro, an online user-generated publishing website, from February 2019 to August 2021.
It was then acquired by Fujimi Shobo, who published the light novel series in January 2022. Yen Press then obtained a license to release the light novel in North America.
In 2022, the light novel received a 3/5 rating in the Spring Light Novel Guide. It also received a lot of positive reviews from critics and readers alike.
Is The Magical Revolution of the Reincarnated Princess Based on a Manga?
After the success of the light novel series, Tensei Oujo was adapted into a manga with art by Harutsugu Nadaka.
The yuri manga was serialized in ASCII Media Works’ Dengeki Maoh in July 2020. Yen Press also acquired a license to release the manga in North America.
The Magical Revolution of the Reincarnated Princess Light Novel and Manga Status
Both the Tensei Oujo light novel and manga are still ongoing as of writing. Moreover, there are no hints of either ending anytime soon, so fans of the series can anticipate more moments between Anisphia and Euphyllia.
Some fans of the isekai series are still waiting for when the two will eventually end up together, as many readers are shipping the two.
The sixth volume of the light novel was released on January 20, 2023, with no updates on when the seventh volume will be available.
New volumes are released once or twice a year based on previous publications.
For the manga, the most recent update was Volume 4's release on August 26, 2022. Like the light novel, there is no update yet on when the next manga volume will be available.
Tensei Oujo's TV anime adaptation is being produced by Diomedea, the same studio behind other anime such as Parallel World Pharmacy and Domestic Girlfriend.
The Tensei Oujo anime premiered in January 2023, and it is available on Crunchyroll and Muse Communication's channels.
