From the lore of J.R.R. Tolkien, The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power introduces characters old and new. The rich history of Elrond and Galadriel has been unveiled and actor Robert Aramayo speaks up about the relationship between the two in their younger years.
While Elrond and Galadriel hasn't interacted much in Peter Jackson's Lord of the Rings trilogy, The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power unfolds the relationship of the two during their younger years in the series and Robert Aramayo, the actor playing Elrond, speaks with Collider about it in an interview.
Aramayo shares how he and Morfydd Clark, the actress playing Galadriel, prepared for the roles they have, "Me and Morfydd spoke a lot about things like, how long have they known each other? When did they meet? How much of a part of my childhood was she?"
Aramayo adds his perspective on Galadriel, "She’s a legend in Middle-earth, and she has been for a long time. She’s done so much and seen so much.
As for Elrond, Aramayo points out, "He hasn’t achieved any of the great deeds that make him the Elrond that we know from the Third Age books, so there’s an interesting dynamic there with him and her, of that duty and friendship thing that’s at the core of Elrond in Season 1."
"He’s figuring out what to do to honor the words of his king and do the right thing for the kingdom whilst his heart is involved. That’s what I love so much about playing him," Aramayo said.
Aramayo highlights what he likes the most about Elrond and Galadriel's friendship, "There’s always an emotional attachment to any decision that he’s making, which just makes everything more fun. With Galadriel, that is really strong."

Elves on Middle-earth, The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power's first episodes revealed the history of Galadriel with her journey to Valinor and her brother's death and her encounter with young Elrond who hasn't seen war yet in his sheltered life.
Looking at their roles in Peter Jackson's Lord of the Rings trilogy, both Galadriel and Elrond succeeded in their own paths as Galadriel toughens up through the years of her quest while Elrond pursues being an Elf-Lord, becoming leaders of their realms in the future.
