Fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe have eagerly been awaiting the official casting announcements for the X-Men reboot since Disney's acquisition of Fox in 2019. We've heard rumblings over the last couple of months but nothing has been confirmed and it looks like Marvel Studios is biding its time before making any confirmations.
Of course, that hasn't stopped tipsters and several outlets from coming up with rumors surrounding the MCU's mutant roster and it turns out that The Little Mermaid star Halle Bailey is also reportedly joining the reboot as beloved character Kitty Pryde.
Twitter user @BaileyUnspoken shared a link to a Variety article claiming that the outlet reported about Halle's casting as the mutant with phasing abilities. In the outlet's defense, nothing about the singer-actress' supposed casting was ever mentioned in the write-up so we're not entirely sure where the assumption came from.
The viral tweet caught the attention of the 22-year-old rising star and she quickly debunked the said post. "this is not true lmao", she wrote. Check out her response below:

As it stands, Marvel Studios is still keeping everything under wraps regarding the eventual arrival of the mutants, and considering the MCU's upcoming phases are already seemingly set in stone, it looks like we'll have to wait until at least the end of Phase 6 before the X-Men gets incorporated into the franchise. It's going to be a long wait, MCU fans.
