Now that The Last of Us Episode 9 just concluded the HBO show’s Season 1, the streaming site just announced the release date of when fans can expect to purchase The Last of Us Season 1 on 4K, Blu-Ray, and Digital version.
The Last of Us: The Complete First Season becomes available for purchase on Digital on April 11, with a 4K Ultra HD, Blu-Ray, and DVD release set for July 18, 2023. The home video releases come with three hours of special features, which includes all-new content such as The Last of Us: Stranger Than Fiction, Controllers Down: Adapting The Last of Us, and From Levels to Live Action.
Stranger Than Fiction oversees the cast and filmmakers as they are joined by expects in survival, microbiology, and parasitology on the realities of the fungal infection and the post-apocalyptic settings in The Last of Us. Controllers Down sends a sneak peek on how Naughty Dog’s best-selling video game was adapted into the HBO drama, and lastly, From Levels to Live Action tells the behind-the-scenes story as to how HBO expanded on fan-favorite moments from the game.

The Last of Us has been one of the most highly anticipated live-adaptation on HBO since House of the Dragon. As a matter of fact, The Last of Us became the second largest debut after the Game of Thrones prequel.
Not to mention, The Last of Us being a live-adaptation of the Naughty Dog video game just made the series all the more enticing to watch, especially since showrunners Neil Druckmann and Craig Mazin brilliantly depicted the story through as accurately and as faithfully in the game.
However, this is not where The Last of Us ends, as The Last of Us Season 2 had already been confirmed by HBO ahead of Season 1’s ending!
