Gabriel Luna is starting 2023 with a major bang and after his involvement in the Marvel Universe and the Terminator franchise, the 40-year-old star added another major property under his already impressive resume, and that is HBO's The Last of Us series. Of course, just like any actor, Luna is someone who wants to do more in his career and apparently, he has his sights set on joining another major franchise in the future.

Appearing on The Last of Pods, a co-production between ComicBook and Entertainment Tonight, the Agents of SHIELD actor revealed he's been making attempts to get cast in the Star Wars universe, and even went as far as sending Dave Filoni an email just to shoot his shot.

He reveals: "I wrote a letter to Dave [Filoni] and a while back and it's a dream of mine. I mean, there's all kinds of possibilities there. I was just talking to Neil at the party and I was like, "Yeah, Neil [Druckmann], until we do that, until that time comes when it's time for Star Wars," and I'm just wishful thinking and hoping, but once again, I will always prepare as if I have the job. If that day should ever come, I'll be ready."

Luna has been knocking on Lucasfilm's doors for quite some time now. In fact, he previously expressed his desire to play Ezra Bridger in the standalone Ahsoka series, although the production company has already cast the actor who will play the part in the MandoVerse.

Hopefully, Luna gets to fulfill his quest and I personally think he'd be a fine addition to Star Wars. Too bad the Ezra role is already off the market but of course, he can still play a different character.

The Last of Us is streaming on HBO.
