The Last Jedi’s John Boyega Had Robert Downey Jr. As His Mentor

While it's hard to imagine Lucasfilm's John Boyega being closely connected to Marvel's Robert Downy Jr., it seems like the young Star Wars actor actually had the Hollywood celebrity teach him how to deal with fame right before he became a household name from a galaxy far, far away.

GQ just recently put the spotlight on Boyega in the magazine's most recent issue and in the publication's cover story fans get to learn how the stormtrooper-turned-resistance-fighter had gotten Iron Man to give him some tips about how to get through Hollywood fame. Despite having no initial contact with the celebrity prior Force Awakens, Boyega had his agent hook him up with Downey Jr. to mentor him on how to be "famous correctly."

"It was time for me to sit down with someone who's been through the extremes of Hollywood and to be given some tips as to how to stay stable."

Given lessons on dealing with Hollywood fame at Downey Jr.'s house over waffles, Boyega also got to hang out with Orlando Bloom how came by unannounced.

"I'm not used to any of that stuff, hanging out with Iron Man on a day-to-day basis.I was just like, ‘Bloody hell. Is this how the celebrities do?'"

Boyega's probably used to the Hollywood lifestyle now that he's on to his second Star Wars film and it looks like his work as Finn has gotten him places – not only is he starring in science fiction monster film Pacific Rim: Uprising, he's also returning to his stage roots by acting in Woyzeck. Boyega's certainly got a bright future ahead of him.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi premieres December 15, 2017.
