Netflix has just recently released a brand new teaser trailer for the third season of Marvel's Daredevil and it looks like the video puts the spotlight on Vincent D'Onofrio's formidable Wilson Fisk, otherwise known to fans as Kingpin.
The Devil of Hell's Kitchen was in a pretty bad shape after The Defenders, but now it looks like Fisk is making a comeback in the third season of Daredevil.
Though the new teaser doesn't necessarily give away any footage from the new batch of Daredevil episodes, it does give a haunting comparison between Fisk and Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox). While Kingpin puts on a crisp white number after coming out of prison, a bloodied Daredevil throws away his lawyer's dress shirt into a furnace, fire burning in the reflection of his glasses.
Accompanied by a dark, resonant number, the video teases a more ruthless version of Daredevil in the upcoming season.
That's not all though. Netflix has also released a synopsis for the new batch of episodes for the series.
"Missing for months, Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) reemerges a broken man, putting into question his future as both vigilante Daredevil and lawyer Matthew Murdock. But when his archenemy Wilson Fisk (Vincent D'Onofrio) is released from prison, Matt must choose between hiding from the world or embracing his destiny as a hero."
Like the trailer, the description for Daredevil season 2 implies that fans are going to see Matt at one of the lowest points in his life – not a surprise, given that the death of Elektra (Elodie Yung) in the season 1 finale of The Defenders. The only question now is whether or not Matt is going to give in to the darkness within him.
Based on the trailers released for the series, it looks like Matt's going to have a very difficult struggle with his dark side this season.
Daredevil Season 3 premieres October 19 on Netflix.
