The Impossible Has Happened: Kingdom Hearts III Has Been Completed

We laughed. We cried. We made jokes and even claimed that it would never come out. But director Tetsuya Nomura has uttered the words fans have been wanting to hear for years "Kingdom Hearts III has been finished." No joke, the game has finally gone gold and it looks like the action-RPG is set to grace the PS4 and Xbox One early next year, on January 25, 2019.

That's right, Nomura went to social media and confirmed that the sequel that's been 13 years in the making has finally been completed. To celebrate, Square Enix has released a brand-new trailer that shows a ton of new footage, none of which can be described as "spoilery" since the story of Kingdom Hearts is not easy to talk about, even for veteran fans.

Still, seeing Sora, Donald, and Goofy take on various Heartless from worlds based on Big Hero 6, Toy Story, Monsters Inc, Pirates of the Caribbean, and Frozen should be enough to make the most cynical gamer smile. Previous trailers have also shown Kairie wielding a Keyblade, which is something we've been wanting to see since Kingdom Hearts II, to be honest.

After more than a decade of waiting, it's awesome to know that Kingdom Hearts III is finally going to come out. Previews from major publications have confirmed that the gameplay is as good as ever, combining elements from Kingdom Hearts II and Birth By Sleep, which many have claimed are the best of the franchise.

Kingdom Hearts III is coming out on January 25, 2019. Hallelujah.
