The Hargreeves are Lost in the '60s in New Trailer for Umbrella Academy Season 2

The ending of the first season of Umbrella Academy had the Hargreeve siblings traveling back in time in an attempt to stop the end of the world, but it looks like the apocalypse is coming with them. This new trailer for The Umbrella Academy Season 2 gives us a look at what's in store for the ex-superheroes.

Five warned his family (so, so many times) that using his powers to escape from Vanya's 2019 apocalypse was risky. Well, he was right - the time jump scatters the siblings in time in and around Dallas, Texas. Over a three year period. Starting in 1960. Some, having been stuck in the past for years, have built lives and moved on, certain they're the only ones who survived. Five is the last to land, smack dab in the middle of a nuclear doomsday, which - spoiler alert! - turns out is a result of the group's disruption of the timeline (déjà vu, anyone?). Now the Umbrella Academy must find a way to reunite, figure out what caused doomsday, put a stop to it, and return to the present timeline to stop that other apocalypse. All while being hunted by a trio of ruthless Swedish assassins. But seriously, no pressure or anything.

By the looks of it, the second season is going to be borrowing elements from The Umbrella Academy: Dallas, and we get a look at the leader of the Temps Aeternalis, Charmichael (the fishbowl head robot). It also looks like we're going to see the return of Hazel, but for some reason, he's become an old man.

While the first season of the show had dealt with the Hargreeves dealing with their own personal issues, it looks like the family is going to be stuck in the 60s this time, trying to get along. We even get them meeting their ‘father' Reginald Hargreeves; there's also a teaser for their monkey butler Pogo.

Comic adaptations are always hit and miss, but Umbrella Academy manages to knock it out of the park when it came out last year. While I thought that the series could get corny at times, the characters bounce off each other very well, and you get to see them try to move past their trauma while going through superhero shenanigans.

Not to mention the show has a killer soundtrack.
