The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special: How Did Star-Lord Get His Quad Blasters?
The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special just revealed that Star-Lord has a sister as Mantis admits to Peter Quill her huge secret, that they share the same father. Speaking of fathers, the closest to one for Peter Quill isn't actually the same father he had with Mantis, but rather, it was Yondu.
Peter Quill and Yondu didn't have the perfect father-and-son relationship but in the end, Yondu proved that he is the closest Peter could have as a father. In Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, before Yondu died, he said, "He may have been your father, boy, but he wasn't your daddy."
That is probably the most heartfelt scene that Yondu and Star-Lord shared. Surprisingly, there's more to their father-and-son relationship as revealed in The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special.
All Kraglin though was Yondu ruined Christmas for Peter Quill but actually, Peter has a heartfelt memory he shared with Yondu when it comes to Christmas. It actually ended with Yonud and Peter exchanging gifts, Yondu received his mini-figurine that he always has on his ship as a present from Peter.
As for Peter Quill, he received a gift from Yondu that he would carry as his most trusted weapon up to now. Yondu gave Peter Quill his Quad Blasters as a Christmas present and from then on, Peter always used the same gun as his go-to weapon.
