We all know for a fact how passionate and dedicated the Star Wars fandom is and they are known for being some of the most vocal and opinionated fanbases in the geek community. However, it can't be denied that the most hardcore followers of the franchise have this tendency to be toxic and we've proven that over the last couple of years.

Just recently, Obi-Wan Kenobi actress Moses Ingram opened up about how she would put up with harassment from fans on a regular basis because of her race and color. Actors like John Boyega and Kelly Marie Tran have also dealt with the same scenarios during their stint in the sequel trilogy.

Even Star Wars' official social media pages have come out on multiple occasions to call out nasty fans who bring nothing but havoc to the community but it seems like they're just hard to topple. Now, Simon Pegg, who had a brief appearance in 2015's The Force Awakens as the Jakku junk boss Unkar Plutt

Pegg, who is no longer a stranger to starring in massive film franchises said during an interview with SiriusXM's Jim and Sam (via The Wrap) that the "Star Wars fan base seems to be the most toxic at the moment."

Admittedly, he was once part of that bunch after making jokes about Jar Jar Binks, arguably one of the most divisive characters in the entire franchise. He added: "I’ve apologized for the things I said about Jar Jar Binks. Cause of course there was a f—ing actor involved. He was getting a lot of flack and…it was a human being. And because it got a lot of hate, he suffered, you know, and I feel terrible about being part of that."

To be fair, Disney has made efforts to control the franchise's toxic fandom but I guess some people just can't control their behavior. As long as Star Wars is around, there will be no shortage of ill-mannered fans and I guess we'll just have to deal with it.

Meanwhile, the entire Skywalker saga is available for streaming on Disney+.
