There's no denying that fans have mixed feelings about Disney's Star Wars sequel trilogy and a lot of it had something to do with its lead character Rey. You see, when The Force Awakens introduced us to the character, many were thrilled about the idea of her being a complete "unknown" but over the course of the trilogy, it was evident that Lucasfilm was setting her up to be a descendant of a beloved character.
There were several theories suggesting Rey's connection to characters like Luke Skywalker and even Obi-Wan Kenobi but in The Rise of Skywalker, it was revealed that she was actually Palpatine's granddaughter. That move alone was enough to infuriate the fandom... well, until Rey called herself a Skywalker in the closing moments of Episode IX without any explanation.
Three years have passed since the Skywalker saga culminated but fans are still having a hard time embracing "Rey Skywalker". Now, a new rumor claims that the polarizing character will be erased from the Star Wars canon. According to Mike Zeroh, Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni are heavily involved in rewriting some canon material and potentially fixing Rey's character.

It's worth noting that there was a massive Star Wars rumor from last year claiming that the House of Mouse was planning to erase the sequels from existence to make way for a reboot but that has already been debunked. This new rumor seems a little too farfetched but I guess we'll just have to wait and see what actually happens.
The entire Skywalker saga is available for streaming on Disney+.
