The Flash’s Script is Back in the Drawing Board

There haven't been a lot of updates about The Flash solo movie lately, and apparently, it's because we're bound to get a big one.

The Flash is taking on a new direction as far as its script is concerned. Variety got the scoop from sources who shared that Joby Harold has now been tapped to rewrite the script.

Harold has a few titles to his name as screenwriter, including Awake, King Arthur: Legend of the Sword, and the upcoming Robin Hood: Origins. He also had a hand as executive producer in Edge of Tomorrow, and is set to produce the I Am Legend reboot.

Considering that Rick Famuyiwa, who had exited the project due to creative differences, has a lot of hand in the latest version of the script, it's not surprising that Warner Bros. would want to take another look at the narrative.

Timing-wise, this will definitely delay The Flash, but it would work given actor Ezra Miller's current schedule. He will be reprising the role of Credence Barebone in Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them 2, so his busy schedule may conflict with shoots for his role as the Scarlet Speedster anyway.

Because of this, the studio is reportedly taking its time in finding a replacement director. This is also a good move, as Famuyiwa was the second director to leave the project following Seth Grahame-Smith's exit.

The development for The Flash is almost on a similar trajectory for Ben Affleck's solo Batman movie. Even with mixed statements, that particular production seems bent on taking its time perfecting the script, since most of the DC film productions have seen very bad feedback in terms of storyline.

Miller will be playing the role of Barry Allen, alongside Kiersey Clemons as Iris West and Billy Crudrup as Barry's dad. The Flash currently has no release date yet.
