2022 was undeniably the peak of Ezra Miller's controversies and after several altercations with fans during the first half of the year, the campaign calling for his DC Universe ousting only intensified. During the latter part of the year, the 30-year-old star stunned everyone when he decided to come clean, revealing that he's undergoing treatment for his problems.

Now, a new report sheds light on Miller's potential future under James Gunn and Peter Safran's "new" DCU, and shockingly enough, things are looking quite promising for the Justice League star.

According to a report from Variety, WB Discovery executives are now open to the idea of keeping Miller on board after the actor revealed that he's seeking professional help for his issues. The trade writes: "Given that Miller has stayed out of trouble since beginning mental health treatment in the summer, some executives are amenable to continuing with the actor as the world-saving speedster."

Interestingly, The Flash is reportedly testing positively with critics and it's even drawing comparisons to Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight. Now, whether or not this affected WB's stance regarding Ezra's issues remains to be seen but in the event that the film performs well at the box office, it could certainly be a catalyst to Ezra being kept in the DCU for the foreseeable future.

Despite the actor's efforts to stay away from trouble, it doesn't look like the fans' perception of him has changed and if anything, the majority of them still want him out of the DCU. Now, one would think that the ball is still in WB Discovery's court but with the insertion of Gunn and Safran to the fold, it's still a little too early to tell what the future holds for the franchise seeing as how the duo has been influential in the process of decision-making.

The Flash is scheduled for release on June 23, 2023.
