Ben Affleck hasn't had that much luck in superhero films and even his casting as Batman was initially met with a generally negative response from the DC Extended Universe fandom. But after seeing his version of the caped crusader in 2016's Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Affleck won fans over with many even hailing him as the definitive live-action version of the hero.

However, frustration and setbacks would come into play leading to Affleck publicly announcing his retirement from playing the Dark Knight in early 2019. Now, Batfleck is set to appear one final time in Ezra Miller's solo The Flash film which is set to explore the DC multiverse, and the actor has reiterated that he is done with the DCEU after the release of the Andy Muschietti-helmed project.

Several sources have also confirmed that Affleck is officially exiting the DCEU with Batman veteran Michael Keaton poised to take his place. Keaton's involvement in HBO Max's Batgirl pretty much seals the deal with regard to Affleck's status but surprisingly, Miller doesn't believe that Affleck is done with the franchise.

In yet another bizarre post via his Instagram stories, Miller finally broke his silence by sharing a screen capture of Variety's report about Affleck's exit. The said post has the words "Ha Ha Ha" written on it, obviously implying that Miller doesn't buy into his Justice League co-star's DCEU exit.

Ezra's cryptic message adds more confusion to the entire Affleck-DCEU situation. It's safe to assume for now though that Ezra is just trying his best to cover things up to keep The Flash free from spoilers or maybe, just maybe Affleck isn't actually done as Batman.

The Flash is slated for theatrical release in November.
