The Flash Season 5 Actress Teases Nora's Relationship With Barry And Iris

Viewers will finally get to meet Barry Allen's daughter Nora West-Allen in The Flash Season 5. However, it looks like Jessica Parker Kennedy's character isn't very close to her mother Iris West.

The previous season finale offered a glimpse at a mysterious young woman who later introduces herself as Barry and Iris' daughter from the future. Since then, Kennedy has openly spoken about the new character and how her arrival could change things up for Team Flash. In an interview with Newsarama, Kennedy shared that one of Nora's little secrets will be revealed early on in Season 5.

"Something has obviously happened for me to feel much closer to my father than my mother," the young actress admitted. "It's something you'll find out relatively early on in the season."

The revelation certainly raises a few eyebrows. Iris has always been portrayed as a caring person who always nurtured Barry during his time of need. However, she is also an ambitious journalist who refuses to back down when a hot story comes her way. Perhaps Iris will be too busy for her own daughter in the future?

Although Kennedy refused to share more details about her character's relationship with her mother, she did point out that Nora's closeness to Barry has to do with their shared personality.

"Personality-wise, I think she's a lot like Barry. Certainly, the way Barry was early on. She's finding her footing. She's goofy, she's dorky, she's very young spirited. She is prone to making mistakes and other people needing to clean them up. That's just sort of where she's at right now. She's in the experimental phase of her life."

Sure, Barry was once a dorky speedster trying to get control of his power but he has grown since then. He has even helped train fellow speedster Wally West in the third season. However, the idea of Barry training his own daughter could be an interesting change for the series.

The Flash Season 5 premieres on The CW on October 9.
