The Flash is Close to Completion Contrary to Reshoot Rumors

There's no denying that a lot of buzz surrounds Ezra Miller's The Flash film, especially given how the actor has been at the center of attention for the better part of 2022. While Ezra has formally apologized to the people he's done wrong, a lot of fans are still on the fence about whether or not they'll see the film for themselves.

Even Warner Bros. Discovery was reportedly at one point uncertain about pushing through with the project's theatrical release, with reports claiming that David Zaslav and company were ready to give the film the Batgirl treatment. However, after Ezra finally came clean, the production company seemingly had a change of heart.

Now, in case you were wondering about the film's status, the Andy Muschietti film is apparently closing in on its post-production work. Taking to Instagram, Andy's wife and producer Barbara Muschietti posted a surprising update regarding the film, saying that they're "getting closer" to its completion.

We say "surprising" because there have been rumors swirling online that The Flash is among the DCEU projects getting reworked before their theatrical release, although Shazam! director David F. Sandberg previously denied that Fury of the Gods was undergoing reshoots.

Now, it's safe to assume that the reason behind the film's delay has nothing to do with the project itself and if anything, Warner Bros. Discovery probably just wanted the Ezra issue to subside. But considering the actor's name is still drawing massive heat online, Zaslav and company better have a good backup plan to counter the PR nightmare waiting to happen.

DC's The Flash is slated to hit cinemas on June 23, 2023.
