The Flash: Filming Reportedly Ends This Week

Fans have been excited about the upcoming DCEU film The Flash. Not only we'll get to finally see Ezra Miller's solo adventure as the Speedster, but it will also feature the return of Michael Keaton as Batman. It is also expected to explore the DC multiverse as the film is going to be inspired by the Flashpoint storyline in the comics.

According to Twitter user @bigscreenleaks, filming for The Flash will finally end this week with the possibility of wrapping as soon as tomorrow.

They also noted in a follow-up tweet that the film has been in production since April. If that's the case, it would make sense that they would finish shooting this week. Production for big-budget films usually lasts for several months because of the scope that they have to shoot. Plus given the COVID-19 pandemic, there are now also added days in the filming schedule given the limitations that they have to impose on set to follow safety protocols and guidelines.

It is great to hear that filming will finally end. It signifies that the most important part of the filmmaking process is done, meaning that the film is one step closer to becoming a reality. The film is set to be released in November next year so they have a lot of time for post-production and possibly do additional photography if necessary. There is a possibility that we might see official first-look footage of the film during next month's DC FanDome virtual event.

The film has been in the works for years with several different directors attached at one point. Ultimately, It director Andy Muschietti became the one who officially headed the film into production. Besides Miller and Keaton, Ben Affleck is also expected to appear reprising his role as Batman. Newcomer Sasha Calle was also cast to play Supergirl. Kiersey Clemons, who played Iris West in Zack Snyder's Justice League, will also reprise her character in the film.

The Flash is set to be released in cinemas on November 4, 2022.
