The Falcon and The Winter Soldier Star Anthony Mackie is a Cyborg Warrior in New Netflix Movie

We already know that Anthony Mackie is great at playing a perfectly normal soldier with a heart of gold. However, it looks like the Falcon and the Winter Soldier actor is taking it one step further with his new Netflix movie Outside The Wire where he is a cyborg warrior.

The trailer for Outside The Wire opens with a young soldier named Lt. Harp arriving at a base and looking for Capt. Leo. The man he asks immediately points out that Harp may have done something wrong if he is being sent to Mackie's character.

It is later revealed that Harp broke the chain of command, leading to him being sent to Leo who isn't like the other soldiers. Almost immediately, it is confirmed that Leo is actually an android.

So what is in store for Harp and Leo? As it turns out, the military needs someone who can think outside the box and help Leo on a dangerous mission. Will Harp manage to work with Leo without getting into too much trouble?

We're loving the idea that Mackie has found himself in a new action sci-fi project with Netflix yet again. After all, he did so well in Black Mirror and Altered Carbon Season 2. Needless to say, Outside The Wire is an excellent way to prepare for The Falcon and The Winter Soldier.

The synopsis for Outside The Wire reads as follows:

"When disgraced drone pilot, Lt. Harp (Damson Idris) is sent into a deadly militarized zone after disobeying orders, he finds himself working for Capt. Leo (Anthony Mackie), an android officer tasked with locating a doomsday device before insurgents do."

Outside The Wire premieres on Netflix on January 15.
